There are certain spa supplies that are essential to properly maintaining your home spa. Among these supplies are covers and chemicals. Supplies will be specific to each home spa so it is important to properly measure and identify the spa when ordering and purchasing supplies.

Spa covers come in many different materials and are among the most important spa supplies when it comes to prolonging the life of your spa. Insulating covers tend to cost less than both roll and aluminum, and also have the highest r-value (insulation rating), however aren’t as durable. Roll covers are easy to use and the most durable cover. Aluminum are the most expensive but have a high r-value, are very durable and have the longest life expectancy.

Proper chemicals are also among the most important spa supplies to understand. Your water must be kept clean and the pH level must be balanced. Granulated chlorine is the most common approach to maintain these requirements however bromine is another common option. Bromine is more expensive, but some prefer the smell and feel.

Spa testing kits and strips are recommended to ensure that the previously mentioned spa supplies have been properly used. It is very important that the chemical counts are correct to ensure a long life of your spa.
